Contact and Submit a Tip

Reading the Record welcomes news tips, public documents, meeting notices, correction requests and questions from Toppenish, the Yakama Nation, the Yakima Valley and Washington.

SENSITIVE OR CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION: Ordinary email is not a secure channel. Do not send passwords, Social Security numbers, medical records, private addresses or other sensitive information here. If your tip involves a confidential source or material that could put someone at risk, contact the newsroom first and ask for the safest way to provide it. We will publish a public tip address and secure intake method on this page before accepting confidential submissions.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT: We review tips for news value, verifiability, fairness, public interest and potential harm. A tip is not a promise of publication. We may ask for documents or a response from people named in the report. We do not pay for tips, and we do not guarantee anonymity unless we have agreed on the protection in advance.

CORRECTIONS AND RIGHT OF REPLY: If you believe we published a factual error, explain the specific claim and include supporting records. If you are the subject of a story, you may send a substantive response for consideration.

EMERGENCIES: This is not an emergency service. Call 911 for immediate danger.
